ACRYLIC and WATERCOLOR PAINTING
Lessons in mixing and applying acrylic paint to canvas and instruction in watercolor techniques and transparency
were studied for this assignment. The Elements of Design: line, color, value and space, are evident in each work of art
created by Studio Art students.

"WELCOME TO OUR CHIHULY WALL"
A DVD titled "Chihuly Bellagio" as well as a companion book was the introduction to a lesson on glass blowing by artist Dale Chihuly.
By improvising, students melted vinyl records in hot water and shaped their "Chihuly bowl". Fluting was added before each piece had hardened.
A coat of Gesso was applied and then dried fluorescent paints were used to create a myriad of Chihuly like designs.
