Welcome to our second exhibit! For your viewing pleasure we have examples from two class projects:
Return to Main Gallery
After spending class time discussing the Pop Art Movement [which uses everyday objects and references as its subject matter], students were asked to create a 3-D sculpture based on a visual pun or play on words. Thumbnail sketches were completed and air dry clay was used and painted with acrylics. Their final piece needed to be humorous, allegorical or metaphorical. A written reflection piece titled "How Successful is Your Message?" was included.
Students in both Studio Art and Advanced Art learned new techniques for drawing portraits. The Grid Method was introduced to help them understand feature placement and facial proportion. Pastels were used to create the warm tones of the faces in our "Wild, Wild West" theme for our final assignment.
