PHILOSOPHY

In an increasingly interdependent world, students must be linguistically and culturally equipped to communicate successfully. The Foreign Language Department envisions a future in which all students will develop and maintain proficiency in English and at least one other language, modern or classical. Our responsibility is to provide Palma students with the choice of a foreign language to study, the opportunity to become aware of other peoples and their cultures, the opportunity to satisfy college foreign language entrance requirements, and the opportunity for advanced study of a foreign language.
