The mission of the Physical Education Department is to support the stated mission of Palma High School, providing young men an excellent college preparatory education in a Roman Catholic environment that embraces the Essential Elements of a Christian Brother Education, challenging each individual to develop spiritually, intellectually, morally, physically, and socially. In seeking the broad goal of educating and forming responsible young men, within the Physical Education curriculum, students will:

• Develop effective motor skills.
• Understand the fundamentals of movement by practicing and analyzing purposeful movement.
• Develop and maintain a positive self-image.
• Strive to become the best that they can be through planned physical activities.
• Develop appropriate social behaviors by working independently and with others during planned physical activity.
