Expected Schoolwide Learning Results (ESLR's)
Palma High and Junior
High School will challenge each young man to develop
spiritually/morally, intellectually, physically and socially.
The Palma Expected Schoolwide Learning Results are:
- Spiritual/Moral: living as individuals with a strong foundation in Christian values and beliefs.
- Students participate in liturgical services and retreats.
- Students, through attendance at daily theology classes, learn Catholic beliefs, practices, adn traditions.
- Students participate daily in prayerful activites.
- Students learn and apply Christian values to their daily lives.
- Students learn about the inequities related to poverty and support efforts that promote social justice.
- Intellectual:
demonstrating an appreciation for learning in a changing world by
thinking and acting critically, independently, creatively and
collaboratively.
- Students analyze and respind to problems and questions.
- Students develop and articulate thesis statemnts, arguements, and explanations.
- Students consider and evaluate multiple solutions.
- Students create and design appropriate methods to dapt to real-world situations.
- Physical:
developing the knowledge to make healthful choices, to maximize skills
for lifelong enjoyment of physical activity, and to master
sportsmanship.
- Studenst attend classes and extracurricular activities that encourage and measure sportsmanship and healthful participation.
- Students participate in fitness evaluations thatencourage and measure physical development.
- Students analyze problems and present topics on a range of health-related issues.
- Students demonstrate sportsmanship by exhibiting respect for competitors both on the playing field and in the classroom.
- Social: interacting with others effectively and in a manner that reflects the Christian values of respect, compassion and service.
- Students participate in a variety of school activities.
- Students contribute to community-service projects.
- Students show respect for peers, teachers, and others through behavior and speech.
- Students display appropriate behavior at all scholastic and interscholastic activities.
